The tenth generation of the Pokémon series, Pokémon Wind & Wave, has been officially announced. In keeping with series tradition, both versions will launch simultaneously. Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Wave are slated for a 2027 release on the Nintendo Switch 2.
As the definitive 30th-anniversary flagship titles, the games are set in a sprawling archipelago inspired by the scenery of Oceania. The experience centers on seamless nautical exploration and a significant leap in graphical fidelity and rendering.
The games feature a vast open world comprising numerous islands, including underwater gameplay. A brand-new Pokédex of creatures awaits, featuring three new starter choices:
Blount: The Grass-type avian Pokémon.
Popo: The Fire-type canine Pokémon.
Gekua: The Water-type gecko Pokémon.

Additionally, Nintendo announced that a competitive-focused title, Pokémon Champions, will launch on the Nintendo Switch this April, with a mobile release following later this year. These titles aim to tide fans over until they can dive into the underwater worlds of Wind & Wave next year.
