HOLLYWOOD, FL — On the evening of Monday, April 6 (local time), rapper Offset was hospitalized after a shooting occurred near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
A spokesperson for Offset released a statement confirming the incident: "We can confirm that Offset was the victim of a shooting and is currently receiving medical treatment. He is in stable condition and remains under close observation."
The Seminole Police Department later released additional details regarding the investigation. The incident took place Monday night in the casino's valet parking area. Offset sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood for treatment.
Authorities stated that officers arrived on the scene immediately and secured the perimeter. Two suspects are currently in custody. Police emphasize that the site is now secure, there is no ongoing threat to the public, and daily operations at the resort have resumed as normal while the investigation continues.
High-profile media personality DJ Akademiks broke further details, alleging that Lil Tjay was involved in the altercation. According to Akademiks, Offset had been seen engaging in high-stakes gambling at the casino recently. The conflict reportedly stems from an unpaid $10,000 gambling debt.
Akademiks also aired a snippet of an unreleased interview where Lil Tjay claimed Offset had previously told him to "pay the debt in blood."
Initial reports regarding casualties were fluid. Akademiks originally reported that Offset was shot in the leg, while Lil Tjay’s condition was allegedly more severe. However, he later retracted the claim regarding Tjay being shot, updating his report to state that while Lil Tjay is unharmed, he has been detained by police in direct connection to the shooting.
Adding to the complexity, commentator Ceddy Nash alleged that a physical confrontation broke out between the two rappers, leading Lil Tjay to open fire in retaliation. However, these claims remain unverified, and Nash has not disclosed his sources for this information.
